Friday Feb 20: Watch Black Caps v England on 3 screens at the club
This Friday February 20, there’s a special event on at Birkenhead City Cricket Club at Birkenhead War Memorial, in the clubrooms.
The midget (Kiwi and Have-a-Go) cricket games usually played on a Saturday will be played on Friday at 5.30pm. Come and cheer for the young players in the club and give them a bit of a thrill.
Bring your friends – it will be a great family evening, with a bouncy castle and free pizzas as well as a sausage sizzle, candy floss and pop corn. Everyone is welcome!
Inside there will be the NZ vs England Cricket World Cup match on three screens – the game, being played in Wellington, kicks off at 2pm. The clubrooms will be open for the start of the game if you’re lucky enough to be able to be there for that. The bar at the club will be open at 4pm.
Feel free to wear your Black Caps supporters gear or bring your Barmy Army voice. Let’s get a bit of friendly rivalry going on…
Any queries please email office@birkenheadcricket.co.nz or call club manager Niki Wallace on 480 5920.
See you there Friday. #gotheblackcaps
Thanks to Auckland Cricket for assistance with this event.

Getting the kids to run after they hit the ball is half the fun. (Have a Go grade, BCCC Glynn vs BCCC Ridge )
