BCCC AGM July 14 2016, 7pm

The Birkenhead City Cricket Club AGM will be held on Thursday July 14 at 7pm.

This is the time when we look back at the year that was and forward to what we hope to achieve in the next few years. With your help of course!

It is also the time when we vote in the board – chairman, president and board members.

There is a proposal to amend the club constitution. Rather than having a list of named roles on the board, the board proposes the constitution is amended to list a minimum number of board members. This will allow the board structure to be amended at the AGM without needing to amend the constitution each year. The minum number the board has in mind is 4, including the chairman and finance director.  A board quorum would be four.

This was raised in 2015 and did not go ahead, but this current proposal, setting a minimum number of board members, allows the board to assign more people as it needs rather than sticking rigidly to roles.

If the BCCC club members felt another role should be opened up, this can be voted on at the AGM.
(Past roles include midget director, coaching director, communications and marketing director, logistics director.)

For 2016-17 the board would like to propose the role of club development director.

Clause 6B

FROM The Club at its Annual General Meeting shall elect the following Board members:

  1. Chairman
  2. Administration Director
  3.   Finance Director
  4. Communications Director
  5. Logistics Director
  6. Coaching Director
  7.   Operations Director
  8.   Midgets Cricket Manager
  9.  Junior Cricket Manager
  10.  Senior Cricket Manager

Board members shall only be capable of election if either they are present personally at the AGM or shall have previously given written notice to the outgoing Administration Director of their willingness to accept office

TO

The Club at its Annual General Meeting shall elect the following Board members:

  1. Chairman
  2. Finance Director
  3.  Junior Cricket Manager
  4. Senior Cricket Manager

In addition, up to three additional members can be elected to the board in non-specified positions.

Board members shall only be capable of election if either they are present personally at the AGM or shall have previously given written notice to the outgoing Administration Director of their willingness to accept office

The quorum for any Board meeting shall be six members
